Three police officers were suspended due to a security lapse during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ranchi, according to a police official. The suspension came after a woman unexpectedly ran in front of the PM’s convoy en route to Bhagwan Birsa Munda Memorial Park-cum-Freedom Fighter Museum on Wednesday morning. The woman, identified as Sangita Jha, was swiftly apprehended by the security forces and taken into custody.
The suspended officers are ASI Abu Zafar, constable Chotelal Tudu, and constable Ranjan Kumar. Sangita Jha, reportedly upset with her husband, wanted to lodge a complaint against him. Ranchi SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha stated that the woman had marital disputes and sought her husband’s salary to be credited to her account. She had previously traveled to Delhi in October to meet the Prime Minister and stayed for 10 days but was unsuccessful. After trying to meet the President as well, she returned to her in-laws’ house in Deoghar.
