The government made drone policy much easier today and private security agencies should be able to provide for not only security but surveillance across the nation, said General VK Singh, Union Minister of State, Road, Transport and Highways and Civil Aviation while addressing the 17th Security Leadership Summit 2022 by the Central Association Private Security Industry (CAPSI) at NDMC Convention Centre.
While addressing the large gathering of private security agencies, industry professionals, students and journalists, the Minister said that both the strategic and internal environments are changing. “Your task is just not physical today, technology is taking over many things which are becoming a security thing, you have to keep in mind all these things if you want to be relevant in today’s world,” he added.
By highlighting the requirement of security agencies, Singh said, “Today the requirement for security and security agencies is increasing. With increasing requirements, we need to see what to focus on, whether personal security, residential places’ security, institutions’ security or the security of vulnerable places as people need security everywhere.” He emphasised on the learning of new technology and said, “You have to learn what you can do with the help of new technologies. If you are good and keep up with the latest trends and situations you will take on much more tasks than what is being done today.”
Also, the Minister pointed out to the private security agencies that all of you are in a spare place where your growth depends on you, how you look at things will decide how you will grow and that’s why you need to concentrate on not only what’s happening but also look at what will be the future.
If we do not look at the future, the minister added that we will go wrong because the world is changing.
In his opinion, “Training, skilling and quality control are the most important ingredients if you want to market yourself. If you do not have quality control, then you will lose it. In various works, you can train and deploy people to provide manpower to different government agencies.”
Singh concluded by saying that in the coming days, you will grow, CAPSI will grow and you will have the responsibility for the country’s internal security.
